The short answer

AlpinePages is a web studio in Kelowna, BC. It builds your homepage free, and if you like it, finishes the site and starts your plan: CA$25 a month for one page, CA$49 for up to five, or CA$99 for up to twelve, billed yearly. Its team makes your edits, and the five-page plan includes Google Business Profile, local SEO and business email setup.

Bildz costs CA$27/month, billed monthly after a 30-day free trial, for up to five pages that you change yourself by describing what you want. For a five-page site, Bildz costs less. For a single page, AlpinePages Starter costs slightly less, paid a year at a time.

Cost and billing

For a site of up to five pages, AlpinePages' Business plan is CA$588 a year, or CA$1,764 over three years. Bildz comes to about CA$945 over three years for the same number of pages. AlpinePages' Starter plan, at CA$300 a year, comes to CA$900 over three years, slightly less than Bildz, but it's a one-page site.

The other difference is how you pay. AlpinePages bills a year at a time, so you pay CA$588 upfront for Business each year. Bildz is billed monthly, so you can stop at the end of any month. AlpinePages' Business plan also covers work Bildz doesn't do, like Google Business Profile, Search Console and business email setup.

Making changes

With AlpinePages, you email the change and its team makes it, usually the same or next business day. That suits owners who'd rather not touch the website at all.

With Bildz, you describe the change, like "We're closed on Boxing Day", review the update and publish it yourself. There's no monthly limit on ordinary edits and no waiting for someone else's schedule.

Choose AlpinePages if

  • You only need a one-page website and are happy to pay a year at a time.
  • You'd rather email changes to a team than make them yourself.
  • You want your Google Business Profile, local SEO and business email set up for you.
  • You need up to twelve pages, town landing pages or ongoing SEO work.

Choose Bildz if

  • You want up to five pages for less than AlpinePages' five-page plan.
  • You'd rather pay monthly than a year upfront.
  • You want to make changes yourself, whenever you like, without a monthly limit.
  • You want to review the whole finished website, not just the homepage, before deciding.

Bildz reviews every application and may decline projects that aren't a good fit. Full details are on the free website offer page, and the comparison overview covers other options, including Launch Loom.
