Bildz vs PayDash
PayDash and Bildz both give Canadian service businesses a website without a design fee, but in different ways: PayDash gives you a free template to fill in, and Bildz designs the site for you. Written by Bildz, so we've stuck to facts from PayDash's own website and said where PayDash is the better choice.

The short answer
PayDash, from Edmonton, is booking, invoicing and payments software that includes a free website. You pick one of seven designs and add your own services, prices, photos and hours, and the site lives on a yourname.paydash.ca address for free. Your own domain and online booking start at CA$19 a month.
Bildz costs CA$27/month after a 30-day free trial and designs the website for you, on your own domain, with up to five pages you change by describing what you want. Choose PayDash if you want a free website today or booking and payments in one place. Choose Bildz if you want a professionally designed website without building it yourself.

Cost
PayDash's website costs nothing, as long as you're happy with a paydash.ca address and building it yourself. To use your own domain, you need a paid plan: Starter at CA$19 a month comes to about CA$665 over three years after its 30-day trial, compared with about CA$945 for Bildz.
If you take card payments through PayDash, each one also costs 3.3% + $0.90. PayDash's own example is CA$14.80 on a CA$500 job. That's the price of having booking and payments built in, which Bildz doesn't offer.
The website itself
A PayDash website is a template you fill in: your services and prices, a photo gallery with before-and-after sliders, reviews, hours and a map, in one of seven designs. It's quick, and it's built around taking bookings.
A Bildz website is designed for your business, with up to five pages, from the content and photos you send. Afterwards, you change it by describing what you want, like "We're closed on Boxing Day", and review the update before it goes live.

Choose Bildz if
- You want a professionally designed website, not a template you fill in yourself.
- You want up to five pages on your own domain.
- You want to make changes by describing them in plain English.
- You don't need online booking or payments built into the website.
