Bildz vs Wix
A plain comparison for small business owners deciding between building their own website on Wix and having Bildz build one for them. Written by Bildz, so we've stuck to facts from Wix's own website and said where Wix is the better choice.
Prices and features checked October 25, 2026. Last updated October 26, 2026.
The short answer
Wix costs less in cash. Its Light plan is $21 a month, paid yearly, which comes to about $756 over three years, compared with about $945 for Bildz. But on Wix you build and look after the website yourself. Bildz designs it for you if your application is accepted, and you change it by describing what you want in plain English.
Choose Wix if you want full control, an online store or bookings, or more than five pages. Choose Bildz if you'd rather not build a website yourself.

Cost
On price alone, Wix's Light plan is the cheaper option: $21 a month for 36 months is $756, against about $945 for Bildz. Wix's displayed prices are for yearly subscriptions paid in full upfront, so Light means paying $252 at the start of each year. Bildz is billed monthly.
Light doesn't include payments or scheduling. If you want customers to book or pay online, you need Core at $33 a month, or $1,188 over three years.
The bigger cost with Wix is your time. You choose a template, write every page, arrange the photos and keep it all up to date. If you enjoy that, Wix is good value. If you'd rather spend that time running your business, that's the work Bildz does for you.
Choose Wix if
- You want to design and build the website yourself, with full control over every detail.
- You need an online store, online bookings or payments built into your site.
- You need more than five pages, or features like a blog, members area or many forms.
- You're comfortable keeping the site up to date in a website editor.
Choose Bildz if
- You don't want to learn a website builder or write every page yourself.
- You want to see a finished, professionally designed website before committing to anything.
- You want to make changes by describing them, like "We're closed on Boxing Day", instead of editing pages yourself.
- You run a small service business that needs up to five pages, and you'd rather pay monthly than a year upfront.
Bildz reviews every application and may decline projects that aren't a good fit. Full details are on the free website offer page, and our website cost guide compares Bildz with local web designers.
